Not often a real GT with a pedigree comes up for sale, how much do you think it will go for?
1971 24 hours of Daytona class winner, 5th overall.

I remember Garry Wigglesworth bringing that car down to our region's Chesapeake Challenge event and autocrossing it in the 80's. I don't think anyone really appreciated what it was back then. Any, yes, it would usually take FTD.

when Garry got it , it had had an engine fire....used up race car...sure is neat that it survived the 80s90s
the rest of the story
http://p914-6info.net/PDFs/Wigglesworth%20...June%201991.pdf

"I have a914," Huffman offered.
"Me, too," Wigglesworth replied.
"Mine's a six."
"Mine, too."
"Mine's a GT."
Ding, ding, dizg. Wigglesworth loaded up his hvo
boys and headed dou:r to Alexandria, Virginia, to
photograph the car for his restoration project. He
found the GT untouched since a fire gutted it at a
Summit Point track eyent a I'ear and a half before.
"It still had fire extinguisher fluid on it," Wigglesrvorth recalls. "On the way home it occurred to
me that may'be I should just try to buy this car."

Thanks for posting Mark....nice piece of history.

I see the engine bay is white....does anyone know if most of the GTs were built from white 914 and then painted the livery color later

check out the sold 914s on the goodingco.com site

Great little car. I to remember when Gary Wigglesworth and son would show up at events. They drove it like it was meant to be driven. Gary was a fierce competitor back in the day.He was present for many years in SCCA solo world. After he passed I lost track of the car. I do remember he was quite pissed that I took FTD from him many years ago at Parade.

Jacques Duval is still alive, his son is a member here, and John Tripper @14carrot tried to get him to the 914 50th at Mont Tremblant this year but it didn't work out.
He was a French Canadian motorsports and auto announcer for years.

He also owned a 356B super90, 904, 906 and a 911TR back in the day, I bet in hindsight he wished he had of hung onto those cars.

It recently showed up at the South OC Cars and Coffee event, was wondering if it was a clone, but based off the pictures in the link you guys put up, this appears to be the real deal, note the wrinkle on the DS sail vinyl:

Replica built by Bob Bailey and friends... Bob was a codriver at Daytona. Co-drivers were Bob Bailey and George Nicholas.

Nice to see it back out and running around.

Gary and Gary Jr., always friendly and willing to talk to a young punk who knew enough about 914s to be dangerous. Loved watching that car run every chance I got to see it.

To hit a mill, a couple of special people will need to want this car.

Not seeing anyone take out a mortgage to buy it now.

Here are a few photos of this car when it ran at the Vintage race at Watkins Glen in 1999.
