What's your process on restoring these?
Do you ultrasonically clean them, check the traces for opens, etc
Re-pot the backside if needed?

Also will you restore 914-6 boards as well?

The boards are stripped of the old potting. Ultra sonically cleaned in a mixture of lemon juice and detergent. Hand detailed.
All circuits checked before and after repoting.
Contacts for fuses and pin sockets polished and wire brushed.
Yes we could do a 914-6 board.

Purchased one of these and it is a very high quality part. Beautifully done. Fixed my intermittent engine no start condition.

I have a slightly OT question for the electrical experts
a while ago my mechanics told me I had a -4 board in my 1970 914-6 - is this uncommon ?
the car starts and functions perfectly but I have a personality disorder which demands for original parts in my car wherever practical and possible
however, the back of my mind tells me to leave well enough alone especially when it comes to electrical parts
should there be any differences in making the switch to the -6 board ?

TIA

-6 boards are now rare and hard to come by. Unless you happen on to a -6 you are good to go. I am guessing your tachometer has been converted to an internal ballast resistor and there is no need for the engine speed control.

Mark,
Do you have any of these left? I just took a look at the one I have for the restoration and it's pretty bad. Actually, it's really bad.
I would be in for one of these as well if they are still available. This is for my '75, incase that makes a difference.

Chasing intermittent fuel pump issues - this is affordable enough to throw money at to see if it fixes the issue!

Paypal on the way.

Thanks,
Scott
