I am trying to reinstall my heater. I think I have all the parts that were removed by the PO. I stripped the rust using Evaporust (which worked incredibly well, BTW). Now I need to paint the heat control flaps. Is it okay to paint the inside, or will I send burning fumes into my interior?
I'm planning on using heat-resistant paint. Any recommendations? Thanks, Victor Attached thumbnail(s)

Yes dont use any paint on the inside. I treat the outside once de-rusted then blast & powder coat them.
I assume you checked to ensure the seal material was in good shape prior, otherwise it will still work just not as well. |

The inside pads look okay to me. That's why I thought the inside should not be painted.

Is there a way to replace the material inside that creates the seal when they are closed?
