HP and rev's are cool but this T shirt is my moto.

Thats kinda stupid. A centerlock requires like 240 foot pounds of torque... thats more then most raby motors.

Don't know about your life suporrt for a jackstand but my car has 4 lugs as the good Dr. Fenrdinand intended. That 400 ft lbs of torque!!!! Does anyone know the current count of people posting about rediculous engine choices without doing any research? And what percentage are guys with stock 1.7s or 1.8s? And how many of them ended up buying a used stock 2.0 off the board?

hey smarta**. not everyone has to have a particular engine to talk about one. when fellow 914 members talk about a particular engine that may or may not be in their car, i listen. if you dont like it dont post in here.

I think you misunderstood my post.

Engine conversions cost money... big money (except those that have been done countless times ie. small block chevy, subaru, six).

914ers are CHEAP. There are many examples of guys talking about high dollar engines and get everyone riled up in a watercooled vs aircooled, porsche vs non porsche, german vs japanese vs american, hp vs torque, sports car vs fast car argument. Lots of guys have talked about 20-100k cars they are going to build and eventually realize the HP they're looking for just costs too much money and is way too much work. This is just so typical of the board.

HEY! That's uncalled for. Matt has a valid arguement. And probly a much larger penis than you.

Its CUSTOMARY in 914s to upgrade from 1.7/1.8 to 2.0 then to either six or a V8, depending on whether or not you have a girlfriend. There are some wackos that will actually drop a different engine iin there but their balls have to drop first, right?

come on people this thread isn't about high rev'n motors any more its about giving alpha sh_t.

You could always contact Powertech and get one of their Radical SR8 powerplants.
2.6l V8 made from 2 1.3l Suzuki Hyabusa motors.
Makes 360HP and revs to 11k RPM:

QUOTE (rhodyguy @ Feb 27 2006, 10:17 AM)
(IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/rolleyes.gif) use an engine out of a goldwing then. at least it has shaft drive. using a rev happy bike engine with no rotating mass would have you slipping the clutch at 9000 rpm just to pull away from a stop light. maybe. i can't wait to see how you adapt the chain drive. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif) (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/av-943.gif) what an ugly thread this is. you guys that throw out BIG, BIG hp numbers for a 914, need to drive one configured that way first (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wacko.gif) . that way you will have some idea what you're talking about.

k

After reading this I checked the specs for a Goldwing 1800cc engine. It puts out 123Ft lb torque @ 4000 rpm vs a stock 914 2.0l was only rated at 103Ft lb at 3500.

But a leadwing has a 7k redline.
