Does anyone know the current count of people posting about rediculous engine choices without doing any research? And what percentage are guys with stock 1.7s or 1.8s? And how many of them ended up buying a used stock 2.0 off the board?

I think you misunderstood my post. Engine conversions cost money... big money (except those that have been done countless times ie. small block chevy, subaru, six). 914ers are CHEAP. There are many examples of guys talking about high dollar engines and get everyone riled up in a watercooled vs aircooled, porsche vs non porsche, german vs japanese vs american, hp vs torque, sports car vs fast car argument. Lots of guys have talked about 20-100k cars they are going to build and eventually realize the HP they're looking for just costs too much money and is way too much work. This is just so typical of the board. |

HEY! That's uncalled for. Matt has a valid arguement. And probly a much larger penis than you. Its CUSTOMARY in 914s to upgrade from 1.7/1.8 to 2.0 then to either six or a V8, depending on whether or not you have a girlfriend. There are some wackos that will actually drop a different engine iin there but their balls have to drop first, right? |

You could always contact Powertech and get one of their Radical SR8 powerplants. 2.6l V8 made from 2 1.3l Suzuki Hyabusa motors. Makes 360HP and revs to 11k RPM: (IMG:http://www.powertecracing.com/images/l_v8curve.gif) http://www.powertecracing.com/ |

After reading this I checked the specs for a Goldwing 1800cc engine. It puts out 123Ft lb torque @ 4000 rpm vs a stock 914 2.0l was only rated at 103Ft lb at 3500. But a leadwing has a 7k redline. Bob (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif) |

Is this in regards to the V8? Or the gold wing? If I wanted to be shit on, I'd star in dutch porn. |
