Anyone interested in a Richmond/DC area lunch for next weekend?

-Rusty (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smoke.gif)

P.S. I'm headed up to Falls Church for lunch today (at about noon), and am free most the afternoon. If you want to hang out, give me a call on my cell 515-991-seven-eight-zero-three.

Are we looking to do something closer to the DC or Richmond area? I'm in SE VA and if there's something going on in the Richmond area I wouldn't mind driving up to see a few 914s, since I see so few here.

Hell yea...I no longer have to study fo rmy PE exam so I'm in.

I just installed my freshly cleaned injectors...Best $50 bucks I have spent. The car started right up and I took it for a 2 block spin (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) First drive in a year (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I just need to build up my confidence with the car. Soon I'll be up to 4 whole blocks (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Now I need get it timed and aligned.

Let me know the place and the time. I'll be around on Sunday some and next weekend (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

Cheers

I'm open to about anywhere... but I'm new in town. Kerry, if we were going to do it in the northern Richmond area, what would you suggest?

I don't want to exclude anyone, so maybe northern Richmond will have the biggest draw for everyone concerned.

open to suggestions & options

i'm new to the entire region... but after a quick glance at the map, i'm thinking the farther north the better for me...

An hour North of Richmond is Fredericksburg. I use this for the 1/2 way point between DC and Richmond. There are alot of spots to get lunch there. The DC guys will have to chime in on this but we should get a good turn out if the weather stays nice (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

My 914 will not be making it on the trip buy I'll be there. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beer.gif)

Thanks Dave..The crazy thing about the exam is it takes 3 months to get the results from a computer graded exam?????????? I'll take anything 70 or higher (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Cheers

The PE exam sounds like the CPL (Certified Professional Logistician) exam. They wait for all the scores from all over the world come in, and then they're graded on a curve. 80% or better (on the curve) is passing.

It's a wierd, wierd world, sometimes.

some of the DC/VA/MD guys are thinking of having a tech session to adjust the valves on one of the guys cars. norustscott has graciously offered his heated garage in sykesville MD. date is TDA'ed but i think it's early Dec/after Thanksgiving. there is a thread on pelican about a DC/VA/MD gathering dated about a month ago. we are waiting until field hockey is over/leaves are raked/honey-doo fall projects/cars get running before finalizing details. i know this may be too far for the richmond/beach guys (still are invited!) but we may add the philly guy. keep an eye on the thread on pelican to see how things shape up.....

That's good info, and I wish I could make that tech session. However, I'm leaving the east coast early December.

Is next Saturday too early to look at a luncheon? Should we push it back a week to allow folks more time to plan?

I'm out here for training for my job. Yep, this should be my last trip out here. It's a beautiful, historical state, but the taxes are way too high for my taste. Bought a coke for 1.19 yesterday + 11 cents tax. I was wondering if I was gonna get kissed first.

Anyone is welcome to chime in on date or time.

isn't VA the only state that still maintains its illegal ban on radar detectors ? gonna have to be a little more clever about hiding the Valentine ...

i don't know exactly what's happening next weekend yet. but i think Sunday would be better than Saturday for me.

the downside of Fredricksburg is that i'd be pretty much committed to staying on 95 through DC. if we were to pick a DC or Richmond location i could take 84 and cut over as appropriate. but i can deal with whatever we're doing if i can get the 911 to behave ...

I can make it on Sat or Sunday. We can meet in Richmond for lunch but I was hoping for some of the DC guys to show up.

Maybe we should cross post this to see if some of the DC guys can make a short trip. If not.... We can just get who we can and then figure out the location.

Count me in (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/boldblue.gif)

Hey... I'm easy. While Rich is certainly welcome, I didn't want to organize another ECR. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lol3.gif)

Let us NoVA guys know....I'm game, especially if it's in Fredricksburg (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cool.gif) Who knows what the weather will be like in a weeks time...I'm sure it'll change about 10 times by then. We'll work something out. BTW this BBS was down for a while, so that might be why no NoVA and MD guys have responded yet.

Also Lawrence: I can show you just how (IMG:style_emoticons/default/barf.gif) Ravenna Green is in person (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

I could make it to F-burg for a few hours on Saturday, or (IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif) I could have everyone over to my place since the wife is out of town for the weekend (IMG:style_emoticons/default/happy11.gif) . Nothing big, and I'll have to invite the NoVA 911 crew. Let me know, as the Richmond group would have to travel.
