i didnt want delphi green, but the deal was too good to pass up...it has grown on me, but i'm still going to do a color change, i just like silver and yellow cars better. of all the stock colors, i like delphi green the least(which is what i have!) followed closly by brown and black(just to hard to keep clean)

I'll buy your Delphi Green car. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) I definitely can't resist a green 914. There's a very nice looking Yellow 914 for sale in Napa for $4200.

Saturn yellow..
I'm a dayglow kinda guy that still likes most of those 70's colors ... I've got two cars in that color and like it when it's new (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) but it gets ugly when it fades.... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon8.gif) Ken |

Yellow - kicks ass - I tend to like a darker yellow to the light original colour.
Orange also kicks ass, but I prefer a more modern, deeper orange to the Signal orange. Whatever colour Andy's car is - is pretty darned awesome. Black: Was cool in the 80s. Get red seats to complete the look. Brown: Nasty on anything except early 911s. Early 911s?: Spin-tastic (IMG:style_emoticons/default/barf.gif) I'd go for a yellow. Koni Yellow is nice - and the shock will match your bodywork :-) Fiid. |

Olympic Blue. It tries to be cool like one of the Gulf colors but it's really just VW powder blue.
Are there any rules that this can't be opened up to non-Porsche colors? |

Red Porsche...... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/barf.gif) If you go and ask stupid blond what kind of car she wants, 99.9% of the cases she knows Porsches, she wants RED Porsche (IMG:style_emoticons/default/fighting19.gif) I dont know why all who dont know a shit about cars asks is it red when they heard you have Porsche. |

As you see from my avatar, it is not red any more (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cool.gif) But, honestly I have to say red 914s looks good. Its only the image stupid people used to have that makes it so ..... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/headbang.gif) |

When I bought my first teener I simply took what I could get. I used to have an orange 914 and I loved it dearly... I think orange is fun, in your face, and kind of racy.
I searched out a Delphi Green Metallic car after seeing a PERFECT example in a euro Porsche book as a boy. When I took the car in to the independent Porsche shop for the resto the owner really pushed for a color change... he HATED the color. I explained that I wanted it and I knew it would look great when completed because of my memories of the stunning 914 from the book. Once the car was painted he called and told me ow wrong he was. The new paint looked great and everyone that came into his shop to pick up their 911s, 356s, etc. has asked about the great looking "custom paint" on the 914. It wasn't Delphi Green that people hated... it was the color that Delphi Green turns into when it fades and loses it's shine that I think people hate. With the fresh paint job on I like to call it mountain dew metallic. I am sure some people will never like the color but I know where there are some new converts to Delphi Green in Arizona. Is it the absolute best color for a 914? Probably not. But is it the worst? No way. |

I think you should go all out, and paint it with all the colors teeners came in. Front bumper Red, Right Fender Delphia Green, Hood Signal Orange, Roof Sepia brown, Rear Trunk Black, Right Door Berber yellow, Left door Ravena Green, ect.... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/barf.gif)
Now thats a car everyone could hate. Put a sticker in the rear window. "This is a Ugly Car" also. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dance.gif) |
