Last weekend I bought the 1970 914-6 advertised in the want ads. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) This was the car in Ohio. I'm just getting the time to start going over it, and wanted to share pictures. I got this car for 12K! More pictures at 1970 914-6

The wheels are in the truck for new rubber tomorrow.

I'm pulling the engine Next Monday to go over everything. Valve job, fix oil leaks, clean up everything.

Those are JFZ calipers. Very popular conversion back in the early 80's.

Nice find. I spoke to the guy but didnt get a chance to "see" his other parts.

Keep us up to date on the progress.

Sweetness.

As to the heating problem w/your 2.0L, put a fan on it, preferably thermostatically controlled. For my engine I used a similar oil cooler (Mesa) from Kymco (after-market VW).
I've seen others use a Rabbit (A1 chassis?) oil temp activated switch (180-degree) to turn on their fans. Also, I would highly recommend keeping the stock
thermostat functional no matter where you live as it gets the engine to -- and maintains it at -- operating temperature. Important for engine longevity.
