I would no more post something that would inflame someone’s sensibilities than I would stand in their living room and pee on their couch.

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif)

Haven't I seen a picture of you peeing on a couch?

I think people should be left to their own devices, without a mandate from anyone saying otherwise.

If everyone dressed in a red cape, and smiled, it'd be very hard to know which ones to kill.

In Canada we do not have first amendment rights. It is against the law to disseminate hatred information against an identifiable group. Alfred’s posts were carefully worded to skirt this law. At least the ones that I read were.

You are very correct!

Alfred is not a stupid man, just a misguided one.

If he was stupid enough to use the "N" word, he would be in a heap of legal trouble, if some one ratted him out.
Not to mention the media here would totally crawl up his ass.

We have very strong anti-hate laws in Canada.

That was a photoshopped picture. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cool.gif) I was mooning the camera. Honestly, I didn't inhale. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

I'm pretty cold blooded but feeding people to Polar Bears???

I think dirty work, insteed of foisting it off, on some dumb unreliable animal, should be completed by yourself, so you are certain its done right. Sides, what if the bear had just eatin a fat seal, and let the offender go with a good maiming? Thats not justice!

Don't worry the Polar Bear would finish the job. He would just stick him in a snow bank and come back and eat him later.

Admins,

I hate this.. but I think we are going to a "admin verified" signups.

In other words.. turn on the "feature" that makes us go thru the new signups and "approve" them.

Its the only way to stop him. We have to be careful on how many IP's we block.

Why even bother?
The chances of you spotting him while registering are pretty slim anyway (unless he tries to register as Adolf again (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif))

AFAIK we'll just have to keep our eyes open and delete him when he starts making funny noises agian

He's not worth going through all this trouble

cheers,

I like many others here tried to help him when he had a valid question about cars. Some of his posts were very informative, but he seemed to want to challenge everyone.

This in it’s self isn’t a bad thing. It made me realize that there are still people like him out there. What he doesn’t accept is that he, like us all, are guests here. I would no more post something that would inflame someone’s sensibilities than I would stand in their living room and pee on their couch.

Ya gotta admit, he does add a bit of tainted colour to the board (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) all he is and all we are is fuel for each others fire like the saying "no matter where you go, here we are". I have to agree with Jeroen, "why even bother"

I guess I'm the voice of dissent. I don't care about the extra work, but unless we're going to require phone verification and voiceprint analysis, or driver's licenses faxed in, or something like that... Adding more steps to registration isn't going to keep him out. Any innocent new name & email that pops up will get validated.

Only when the moon is full, or he runs out of Prozac or whatever will he reveal himself. Let's deal with it then.

my opinion only,

Hey I appeciate you admins keeping this board clean. I have never seen any of these posts alluded to by whatever his name is...and am thankful.

We are here to focus on our 914s...everything else is generally not appropriate.

Hi,
I don't know much about this cretin and have never seen one of his posts. It has been my experience that the best way to treat someone of that ilk is to ignore them.
Cheers, Elliot

Hi

Hunting for this (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ar15.gif) jerk, could allso lose new members for I almost stop reading this great site for 914 info, because of adm. hunting for him. But I found the info to good to stop coming to it.
I have found that they are some great people here to listen to. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smilie_pokal.gif)

Others have already pointed out that "alfie" is bright enough to pass anything but a bio-identity test. So you may be adding work without actually being any more effective.

If he re-joins the board under yet another new name, and you don't discover it, so what? Suppose, further, that he stays on topic and doesn't pump out his bilge water all over us. That's not a bad scenario. Ignore him.

Now, supposing he (or anyone else for that matter) feels it's time to empty his spleen, we handle him the same way that we have in the past -- it's Polar Bear Time™ -- Hasta LaVista -- Bu-Bye -- Etc.. (That's the "Royal We" of course -- I actually do nothing at all)

The point I'm laboriously making is that the system you guys are using seems to work pretty well. You identify turkey-behavior roughly when it occurs and appropriate actions are taken.

[there are lots of us out there who are happy to point out turkey behavior -- you are not alone :-)]

We all know when Archie...err...Alfie starts this crap he is sitting behind his keyboard stroking his wood...err... twig.

I for one will not argue anymore, I'll just let the admins know and let them nuke his post and newest moniker.

He may/will become a perpetual newbie.

I appreciate the efforts the admins are making. I think we have to be seen to be making a credable effort to curb it - I think we would be in dicey territory if we left these postings around, and nor do we want anyone to be excluded.

Champion job by everyone I think (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smilie_pokal.gif) - with the exception of Alfred - who frankly ought to know better.
