WOW, run away from that one! Sag city! I've seen more than my share of those "creampuffs". Nice catch on such a small pic vortrex. Unfortunately that car will probably sell to someone who has no idea what to look for and will get screwed.

Some of the ads there are amazing. I guess a lot of folks figure they can ship em out of state and the buyers won't invest the time to check them out before the sale or to give the seller a rough time after the sale. Buyer beware... but, it would be nice if you could trust more than a handful of folks out there. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif)

Judging only by the ebay pics and stuff, I'm actually
going to disagree with most of you here that are
dismissing this as a probable rust bucket.

That pic of the right door is clearly showing that it
is opened, but since the owner is not too bright, it
could be that he is so intent on showing this rust
bubble he doesn't think of it. I can't tell from the
pic if it is sagging at all, which it would while opened
on a rust bucket. In any case, this is something that
even the most boneheaded new buyer would see if
the door can't be closed.

I have to agree with Mark that the door is open alittle. It is not too bad a example for a East Coast car but I can't look the the rust hole.

You can also see the rust bubbling under the paint by that crooked door handle. The ad says "the dash looks great". Maybe the seller should have mentioned that it's actually a dash skin.

hmmm, yeah, maybe the door is a little ajar but I'd still bet that thing is a major rust bucket. none the less, that ad is hilarious even if that car was totally rust free! I don't know, someone has guts to actually take $2k from someones had for that car.

That paint bubbling behind the door handle is certain evidence of a cheap repair job in the cars past, probably when it was painted silver. I bet there is a ton of plastic filler covering mucho unmitigated rust underneath.
Actually $2000 isn't out of line on the east coast for a running, registerable 914.

I know what this is. I can tell from the way the ad is written.

The person selling the car is not the owner. I'm betting its a paid sales service (broker) he knows close to nothing about the 914's and wrote the ad like he would any other ad he used for selling a convertable. Think: template.

I think the car is solid. Look past the rust bubbles.. the door gaps are correct.

You guy's need to chill out. Some old man owns this car and doesnt know a damn thing about Ebay.. he paid some company to come out and take digital pics... LOL
