Nice. Double vision. A couple of my favorite 914s. A sweet 6 and a unique 8, both looking killer in black!

I have been fighting an issue with my shifter since last fall when we attended the RCR in Huntsville. It has gone out of adjustment twice. I was loosening the pinch clamp in the tunnel and realigning the rods. (I have tail shift lingage to a side shift tranaxle) Well, it went out of adjustment again the other day. I slid under the car to see if there was any other cause I was missing like a worn bushing or something. I was moving the rod checking for play when I noticed the rod was moving inside the dog foot on the side shift end. I tightened up the cone screw and BAM! The car never shifted so good! duh! You may feel silly about it,
but it's sure worth it!
Now you get to some serious shifting behind your V8!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif)

I'm jealous.

In my quest to improve my shifting I have been wanting to replace my rear shift bushing. Here's a link to a two piece bronze bushing I made from parts I picked up at Menards.

Here's the end result.

Oh, BTW: Sandy and I leave for the RCC in three days. Over 1300 miles one way.

Looking good Rick! Wish I could make it to RRC but no go. Sucks as I am in Vegas the following week. Just couldn't stay there for 2 weeks (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

So I just skimmed through this thread. And the whole time was thinking how cool it was that there was another Euro 928-swapped 914 out there. You see, when I first started looking into a 914, I asked a friend of mine who's done a few VW-subaru swaps for advice. and one of the first things he said was that he knows a guy with one with a 928 V8 in one.

Then I noticed your location (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

Do you know Phil at SVS Inc.?

Awesome build! and if things go well this fall, hopefully I'll be picking your brain over the winter for advice on my own build!

Call me, I have two wiring projects. One right now and a second in the planning stages. Have Phil bring you over to Area 51 Werks! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/welcome.png)

I realized I missed an update from our travels around "The World"

Here is a couple photos from our trip to the "RRC 09" We met some new friends and we excited to see some familiar faces as well.

Our hosts were were very attentive. The food was great! the camp ground was a fabulous idea, Monument National Park was awesome, and Gateway Museum was a site to see!

We were presented with the long distance award. All in all, I think with the driving we did while in Colorado we logged over 3000 more miles this year.

Well, I hurt the transaxle in the Alien last fall after returning from the RRC. I wasn't going to even pull the car out of storage this year. I have been busy trying to get the Ravenna car done. But I had some set backs so I decided to fix the transaxle in the Alien. Here's how the car looked when I pulled it out of storage. Damn good thing I didn't let this sit until next year! We had heavy rain here several time this year and water got under the door of the storage garage. With the hunidity the interior of the car turned into Mold!

So, the engine is out, the rear tires are bald, the brakes are torn down, transaxle is apart, the car is dirty and the interior is covered in Mold!

See ya at the RRC 10! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

I am freaking out just a little. I tried to buy two tires for the rear of the car only to find out Yokohama discontinued my 255/50/16 (IMG:style_emoticons/default/WTF.gif) I ended up ordering 4 new tires! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) Won't be in until mid week next week.
