I have to say, Nadine and I are VERY excited about RCR! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/piratenanner.gif)
We've been 914 owners for 15 years now and have never done a 914 group gathering thing. We only know a few street 914 owners, and it seems that when we have a street car, nobody else does and vice versa. it's been a LOOOOOONG time since we had a street running 914, so we're taking advantage of the fun! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) Now, if Huey would just cooperate - drove him this weekend and he was not happy at all .... carb, timing, or something issues (IMG:style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif) ..... Got time though.... I hope.... |

Cool. Let me know if you want to mail a box or something in advance to make your trip easier. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Thanks! I actually have a good friend who lives there that I will be staying with so that is covered, but a appreciate the offer. BTW, I sent a goodie box out last week so it should arrive any day now. |

It's now opened up to local PCA members who are just interested in hanging out.
It's always been open to any 914 fan, even if you don't have a car to bring. You might not get to park with the real cars, though. ;-) -Rusty (IMG:style_emoticons/default/type.gif) |

Well, I just registered. Probably makes me the procrastinator in the group. Clay, when/where are we meeting Wednesday? OH MY GOD!!!! That is SO awesome! Clay and I were talking after the last autocross about whether or not you were going to come play with us in Alabama. That'll make 6 cars (that i'm aware of) travelling together. I don't think Clay's nailed down the details quite yet. I'll make sure to tell him you're going. Woo Hoo!!!!!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cheer.gif) |

Bill were talking and trying to figure out how to meet up with you all in Memphis.
Sandy and I plan on leaving Wednesday morning early and meeting up with Bill on I 95. We thought about stopping overnight in Frankfort IL. It's about 11 hrs from my house and about 3 hours from Memphis. Memphis is about 2 hrs from Huntsville. Check in for the event is from Noon-7:00 pm on Thursday. If we stay in or around Frankfort, we could be in the hotel by 7:00 to 8:00 pm. If we left in the morning by 8:00 am we could be in Memphis by 11:00 am to noon. If the caravan can hang around til noon we could all be in Huntsville by 2:00-3:00 pm. Anyone up for this? If it cramps your style say so. We can go through Nashville instead. |

FYI, Rick, its closer to 3 hours from I-240 there in Memphis going due east on HWY-72, through Corinth and Iuka, MS ... to Decatur Al then Huntsville and the Marriott. You will see the rockets. They are kinda hard to miss. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) |

Well, I just registered. Probably makes me the procrastinator in the group. Clay, when/where are we meeting Wednesday? OK.. Avery.. you can meet us at our house. We will go to the Howard's in Irving to pick up Travis and Robin. Then we can meet up with Mike and Julie Floyd east of Dallas somewhere in Rockwall. Anyone heard about Rich or Riva Fisher? I hoped to see them registered. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif) I have not heard from Richard and Riva. Gotta call Rich Johnson, he tried to call me tonight, but I was on the phone for work at the time. What about you guys meeting in Memphis? Are you leaving bright & early or can you hang until 11am - 12 noon so we can get a 914 convoy going? Bill (IMG:style_emoticons/default/agree.gif) What say you? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif) If the rest of the party agrees, then I am all for it. It is only a little over 3 hours to Huntsville from Memphis, plus Betty wants to see Graceland :elvis: I am not quite sure if she is joking or not. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif) We did some research and we picked out a LaQuinta that is right on our route, in a nice part of town, and NOT near the airport. We checked the reviews, and it is highly rated, and affordable. Hotel: LaQuinta, 1236 Primacy Pkwy, Memphis, TN 38119-0201 Here are the directions from Memphis to Huntsville (from mapquest) 1: Start out going EAST on PRIMACY PKWY toward RIDGEWAY RD. 0.5 mi 2: Turn RIGHT onto RIDGEWAY RD. 1.5 mi 3: Merge onto BILL MORRIS PKWY/TN-385 E via the ramp on the LEFT. 12.9 mi 4: Merge onto US-72 E toward CORINTH MS (Passing through MISSISSIPPI, then crossing into ALABAMA). 119.3 mi 5: US-72 E becomes US-72 ALT E/AL-20 E. 41.5 mi 6: Turn LEFT onto 6TH AVE NE/US-31 N/US-72 ALT E/AL-20 E/AL-3 N. Continue to follow AL-20 E. 5.8 mi 7: AL-20 E becomes I-565 E. 14.6 mi 8: Take the MADISON PIKE exit, EXIT 15, toward SPARKMAN DR/BOB WALLACE AVE. 0.3 mi 9: Turn RIGHT onto TRANQUILITY BASE. 0.7 mi 10: End at 5 Tranquility Base Huntsville, AL 35805-3371 Estimated Time: 3 hours 27 minutes Estimated Distance: 197.04 miles Rick..what is the progress on the Alien Ressurection??? Hi Clay, I just posted an update with photos in the alien thread. I think I figured out a fix for my cam. If not I'm running my US cams. I ordered thick head gasket from Cometic. I won't see them until Wednesday. I'll finish the engine and install it by the weekend. I should make it one way or another.
