I know it's only a day after WCR 2009, but now that I have a running and driving 914, I'm already getting ready for WCR 2010.
Being that next year is the 40 anniversary of the 914, my suggestion would be to do it up big and in Las Vegas. Plenty of rooms and lots of different options for activities. I know its a long drive for the PNW guys (its long even from Sacramento), but being that its Vegas, I'm thinking it will be worth it. Any other ideas being thrown around? I'd be happy to help plan or help out in any way! |

Lake Tahoe
The drive around the lake takes all day and is quite beautiful and curvy. The hotels are plentiful and range from ridiculous to reasonable. The hotels have shows. I know of one hotel that has allowed a car show and autocross on its lots. We could even get a fishing excursion going. We could do the tour of the lake on a sightseeing boat. Some guys have never seen Lake Tahoe. |

Lake Tahoe. About 750 miles from Seattle. That's do-able.

After playing in the heat the last couple of days of the WCR, I vote for somwhere it's cool so we can enjoy our drives. Vegas sounds HOT as HELL, although I'm sure it would be fun.

Tahoe would also be a cool place (literally) maybe...it was 80+ there this weekend, which is actually perfect, but very hot for up there. All of us carb guys would have to re-jet! naw just drop the fuel pressure on the regulator a pound |

How about Grass Valley OR? Oh hell yeah...maybe base it all out of Portland and do a run at PIR too? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) Tahoe would be a good choice. |

How about Medford...where's the nearest track...I want to drive. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/aktion035.gif) Jamie and I were talking about Medford all the way back home. About as central as you can get on the left coast, and we could do a redwood run and a crater lake run. Biggest problem would be lack of local logistical support. No track, but maybe a "drivers agility training" (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) |

Medford would be cool. Being that it is fairly central, I could see a big turnout.

I'll throw out a vote for Tahoe. You could add Hwy 49 from Nevada City through Downieville the back way to Truckee.....an absolutley sweet drive along the river (bends). You could do that and a trip around the lake in one day if you want a long driving day or split it up. Great roads, scenery, weather & activities all the way around.
