Rich, just out of curiosity, what are they made out of?
914werke
the same foil backed paper tubing that you see in the cabin for fresh air but its actually a smaller tube inside the tube seen w/fiberglass insulation between them, then plastic caps glued on each end.

Thanks for posting the pic, Rich. I need to 'figger' out how to snake the wand from the Eastman's internal frame coating spray past those bulkheads.

I'm not planning to cut my longs open, so hopefully, the two rubber plugs on the inside of each long will allow adequate access unsure.gif

huh.gif Oh you mean the Tar ovals glued to the recessed holes?
Perhaps ...its tight in there the tube is held in by spring steel clamps of sorts.
Ive tried removing them from one end or the other but as I said their in there tight.
BTW Ive got replacement tar oval plugs for those concours guys.

Yep. I'll run an inspection camera in there first just to see what sort of path exists.

Are the 'tar-ovals hard to remove?

ya after 40 years they tend to crumble to pieces rather that come off intact.

Rich, the repair part in the bottom of the pic - that's the passenger side long we're looking at, right ?

I may just drill some small holes in the bottom of the curvy section to insert the wand to spray the Eastman internal frame coating idea.gif
914werke
Mark that is the inside Pass long .5 The OE part. NLA that I am aware.
The equivalent is now only available as two pieces. The straight section that is crap & the repop curved section at the back, that should be a lapped part but isnt available currently with its "top" layer like the OE part.
I posted the pic for someone (you?) who asked about how the tube is attached.

I used the holes that there for the bottom seat belt bolt and the rivet holes used to hold on the threshold plates. I had a vey long plastic straw (like on a WD-40 can) that I was able to adapt to the Eastman can. Could not verify how well it was coated but I did get a lot in!

maybe try the earlySregistry if they are the same as early 911.

You probably see the inside of 911 longs more than I. Didn't know they used the same part but make sense.
