I understand the intake runner hoses that seal the intake runners to the distributor housing on a 1.7L are no longer available. That's PN 022 133 241 B. What are people doing as a replacement? Just find some heater or radiator hose that fits tight over the tubes?

Think the PN changed to 039133241. Google this number, several vendors including Pelican for 4.25 USD per.

Some are using 2.0 hose (which are bigger) and using water hose clamps for a good seal.

I believe those are the wrong diameter. The "039" part number makes me think that those are for the 2.0 motor, which uses larger-diameter intake runner pipes than the 1.7 does. (The 1.8 uses the same size as the 2.0 ones.)

You'll have to clamp those down quite a ways to make them fit, I believe.

See if you can find radiator hose of the correct diameter, that's probably a better option.

Silicone hoses off eBay. I'll look for a link.

Thanks, guys.

I actually have a set of the 1.8/2.0L hoses I ordered before I knew they weren't all the same. Guess I'll just take an intake runner down to the FLAPS and see if I can find something that fits.
