I have my stock grill which is a bit dated. It has the original gold Porsche letters that I wan to transfer to another grill. They are fastened pretty well.
Is there a way to get them off and still preserve the pins? without messing the grill up too bad?

My recollection was those are held on with speed-nuts and that should unscrew off the pins.

Here's the original fastener. On the left. Hollow rubber with plastic teeth inside. Spray lube on the pins. Use a small plastic body tool. Y shaped. Gentle rocking and up will usually work. I'll post a pic of the teeth side tonight if you want.

Actually, those nuts do not screw. They just push on and don't unscrew. I use a small screwdriver that has a crow's foot end. That's an end that looks like a small fork end of a crow bar. Just lift them off with no damage to letters.

I just used tin snips to cut the speed nuts off.
I soaked each pin in WD40 overnight and used a putty knife to lift while slightly twisting with a pliers and still broke one out of all the pins.
