2016?

Dude, the picture data shows it was uploaded in 2002....it has been posted here a few times (or possibly when part of /club)

Still a neat car.

I'm sorry, I love power but a twin supercharged 914? That's just stupid...... Almost as stupid as the New Gen Camaro I saw last week that was twin turbo, super charged and had a nitrous kit..... Somebody's overcompensating for something.....

That said, this is an awesome looking car, just doesn't make sense, never able to use even 50% of the available power.

Funny thing is there was a Canadian member here with a twin turbo aluminum block Chevy with TEC3 management. He broke a Superflow dyno, twice, breaking it in. the 3rd time the dyno guy hit 1000hp, shut it down and told him to get it off his dyno..
I saw the engine, each turbo was the size of an Austin mini tire.
BTW this guy was a known street racer back in the day.

First time around the block he blipped the throttle and totally twisted the body and roll cage. The cage wasn't tied in good enough. Last I saw he had another car (bare roller) with an overkill cage.

I know he had a bit of a sour taste in his mouth from the membership here, a pic of his highly modified car was posted and it was ruthlessly ridiculed. I was sworn to secrecy about his project.
I see he has not been on this site since 2011...so Turbo Paul in this thread:

He states his setup looks a lot like this Pantera.

I should see if he still around and has the car, he is a cool guy.
He was just a 20 something back then and newly married with kids.
I used to see his buddy at the VW shows, but I haven't seen him in a few years

Same-o.same-o,then?
Nothing new other than Porsche's 2016 mid turbo 4.

http://www.carmagazine.co.uk/car-reviews/p...winter-testing/

Yeah,I had that,old posts.That's why I called it a rehash.
I wanted to link to the guy's site,as he had done a ton of work on his blown Kevlar '914'.
A few here are running with the smallblocks, but twice huffed?
All of the right ingredients for the iron block.
A lot of it I personally don't care for,but the front end is actually ok,in a Kremer 935 look.
Making his own plug and molds to pull a decent cfrp part is a great expense of money, time and talent.
The car as a whole is outrageous,a full tube chassis and silhouette panels.
In a garage,somewhere in England.

Years ago(30?) I came across a Pantera in poor shape, rusted out below the salt line, stationary in front of a trans shop.
Really just a parts car,a writeoff, the guy wanted 25K without the drivetrain, the market at the time said 7,tops.
The rear chassis was non existent, merely rust spots gone to holes.
A 351C TT has all the makings of some serious git.I think he mounted them up high to drainback the oil.
The engine is notorious for oil pressure loss and needs a full race sump and pumps.
Running a stock system will have that rod through block thing happening quick.

Somewhere, someone will be the first to pressurize a 914 Subaru Six,looking to get some more twist.
Found them.

It's Orange Inside.
Very nice example of the perfect engine install, like it grew there.

The idea was not new,the adaptation to an iron V8 was.
Even with some of the smartest guys around, sales success is not a given.
A twin turboed version today would make great power on a newer block.

I like that it's turboed,a blower is good to make power.
Great idea,a tank engine without mufflers,so loud they ran away.

Not too far from the specs on some members 914s - the safety concerns are more evident in our cars though. Hmmm.... composite safety barriers for the 914? Probably not worth the money to put it together but interesting to think about. idea.gif

Very cool! Post some more pictures of the 914!

If you can share I'd love to see some pictures of the other cars in your shop (Pantera?).

We had a Pantera in our shop. Very cool looking but sort of a nightmare car.

I remember posting about this car in about 2012 or 2013. It was old news then (which I learned after posting).

I felt bad back then because I thought I found something new and posted with excitement, only to find out it was old news.

I don't know what's going on with this now, but, it's old news until we hear updates.

What's the current state of this car and future plans???

the car is not in focus,
engine oil leak (resolved)
-leaved coolant (resolved)
oil leak gear box (solved)
-temperature of the engine 130 ° Celsus (solved)
-monter oil temperature 135 ° celsus (solved)
-modification and replacement of the seat by a Kirkey,

now the air temperature at the inlet of the cylinder heads is 150 ° Celsius, I am assembling an air / air exchanger to cool the air coming out of the compressors

We worked on several DeLoreans as they had the PRV V6 and I worked as a Volvo tech. I'd take working on the Pantera any day!

This car has always fascinated me.

How Petrolicious has not yet done a video on it is beyond me.
