Always looking for new design ideas. This one is a knockoff for us 914 owners. Those 911 guys have the coolest stuff. I'll probably make a sticker or two. Post here if you have an interest.
I'll add it to the t shirt shop too. What y'all think?

Just took a look through your page, some neat stuff. Do you have an Instagram account?
Also thought this looked familiar, did you do the IROC one too?
7TPorsh
Oct 27 2016, 12:49 PM
No Instagram, I suppose I should learn how to do that or employ my kids to.
The IROC one was done by famous artist Guy Allen. Actually sparked the idea for the color codes.
I'm finishing a similar design for the early series 911. Here's a low-res working copy.

All three sticker ideas are very cool. I would have to get one of each. They would also make a cool grill badge.
Let me know if you do make the stickers, t-Shirts, or whatever...I would be interested.
Very cool work.

ha! just fixin to post something along those lines seems every time anybody's design comes out there's a lot of 'love it but can you add x or it'd be cool if it had y'
I'm ignorant so I don't know if I've seen the 'original' design but it's cool, nice pivot
failing an FI 4 I'm in for an R or a 6 either way -probably an R

Not to be Debbie-downer, but as a long time member of the infamous R Gruppe, I know that they/we are extremely protective of the name and logo. Unfortunately your design with the 6, especially with the R hits both. I won't rat you out, but don't be surprised if there at best is a warning and at worst, legal proceedings. Just giving you something to chew on and perhaps save you some unnecessary grief.
This goes for any corporation or club with resources. If you used the Boy Scouts of America logo instead, they would probably come knocking too and most wouldn't accuse them of being a bunch of asshats protecting their brand. Same thing.

..this is the R Gruppe logo
GeorgeRud
Oct 30 2016, 07:52 AM
I'd avoid the R because it seems like a 'me too' and could cause legal issues down the line. Flipping the engine direction to give kudos to the mid engined configuration would be appropriate.
I'm in awe of your design talents, keep it up!

Are the names/emblem designs that are being discussed on this thread really copyright/trademark protected?

I've done some more digging and it seems the logo is trademarked. It's a very specific definition so it leaves quite a bit open for variations. I'll be doing some revisions....don't want to upset anyone....

IMO, you just need to tweak the design / color scheme slightly.....maybe something along these lines.
