Check out this story that just hit the news about a $6,000 914 for sale with a wankle rotary engine up front. Any comments or thoughts?

https://apple.news/AtnqN_EZkMFOKL8yLOQ6tPwWankel engine is in the correct mid engine location.
The radiator is in the front...

I voted good price, for that price it'd be a good base for a subaru or more swap to give it some more scoot

Good price. 13b is a nice swap. The radiator is installed wrong, but could easily be fixed. Check out renegades web site for radiator options and best practices.

He rated the exterior as an 8 out of 10? That would be really good paint with a few minor cosmetic issues easily fixed. From the pics I would say a 5. The Mazda engine is certainly interesting motivation.

The pics in the Add don't look that great. There are holes in the wall where the battery tray goes. Looks to me like the hell hole has fiberglass that is painted black. Of course there isn't a real good close up so I could be way off. That & being on the east coast makes me think it has some serious rust. I wouldn't buy it without having a PPI from a serious 914 guy

I had contacted the seller yesterday morning in hopes of having a look, never received a reply. As of this evening, the posting has been deleted.
No speculation at this point.

Probably worth $6k if there's no terminal rust. The 13B is pretty fun in a 914. Initially I thought that rag over the front license plate was a terrible triangular air scooping system for the radiator
! I need some reading glasses.

Yeah, I had an RX7 years ago, it was fun. Still think it's a good plant for a teener.

I had an '84 RX7 GSL SE new. That 13b is a fantastic motor!

There was a very well done rotary conversion at Octeenerfest - he was saying that the 901 trans worked really well with the 13B with the low torque but high winding capability. If they're well sorted it seems like it'd be a lot of fun.

Also on the NJ craigslist:

I love those wheels!
I kinda dig the car with those fenders cutout like that, it has potential I think to be a somewhat fenderless car!
