Full Version: High CHT before the thermostat opens.

I have a CHT sensor under the sparkplugs on cylinder 1 and 3.

I can see that Cyl1 gets much hotter than Cyl 3 before the thermostat opens fully
and I'm guessing that is because the flap on that side of the Engine is "closed" before the thermostat opens. To get a little more airflow on that side can I just slacken the thermostat wire a bit to let the flap be a bit more open untill the thermostat heats up and de-tensions the wire fully?

Or am I thinking wrong about how it moves?

Slackened the cable around 4-5 mm and that seems to have worked a treat. Much more even temps between the heads.
