About 4 folks pm'd me about the spare tire mount that Kent put in Michaels 914-6.. Kent sent me a pattern so I had some cut.

Gonna sell them for $30 shipped to cover costs. These are made of 16ga so a little heavier but still very flexible for you to shape to your car.

Not making any money on these . Just breaking even.. It's a service only and Kent knows that as he sent me the patterns as I told him some people were looking for this mount to be made and had asked me..

So if you want a break down cost is 20 dollars for the part to be cut as only did 10 of them. 7.45 for the USPS flat rate shipping oh and the 2.55 is eaten up in paypal fees..

GregAmy
I like it...a lot!

But allow me to be a bit of a Debbie Downer...in a frontal crash that little bracket isn't going to take much force before it rips out, and I suggest you may lose a lot of front-end crash absorption without the tire mounted horizontal/flat. But that's purely a WAG and I wonder if it really matters much.

Please put me on the list for one.

It probably does but if you are doing a front oil cooler you have limited options for placement. Cutting big holes in the front trunk and fenders for a radiator doesn’t help eaither. I’m sticking with a steel bumper instead of glass but that will also have a GT cut out for a cooler. At least my life insurance is paid up.

Porsche did also place a spare tire mounting point in the back trunk.

The link didn't do much. I can't tell is this for a collapseable spare?

Yes. To fit a wheel vertically, it needs to be collapseable.

Ben-

I just sent you PayPal for FOUR of these.

Please hold until you do my front GT opening mod....two are coming to you soon.

You can ship all back together.

I got a 15” Space saver from Bruce Stone several years ago. Removed it from the Steel wheel and put it on the Fuchs.

Sorry let me start with, First, we filled it with air and then let the air out and it stays in a tall contour. Remove it and mount on Fuchs. Once it was on the Fuchs it takes a bat to hit the tire for it to lay flat. I guess there is some spring steel in the tread body that punches it up.

This worked for the shop next door to my shop to do it. They said it was hard. I was the one that hade to use the bat on it. Same bat I used to roll my wheel arches on my 911.

I recently had it removed from the local tire shop and both the wheel and tire are fine.

I have 4 project cars and if Ben is making more pieces, I might as well get them now. Laser cutting doesn’t care if it’s 1 or 4 or 400.
mb911
Everyone that paid has mounts shipping usps tomorrow except for Oscar's. I will make another run for the remaining interested. Also know I won't make any more after that. It's allot of work but rather the time I don't have to "donate" I would like to do something like what Oscar did possibly as an alternative in the future where proceeds would go to support this site.. That would mean I would charge more..

What does everyone think?
Steve
Works for me!! I will take one if you make more.
Larmo63
I thought about doing this on my car too, so I'll take one too.
porbmw
Will be grateful for one...and appreciate that time is precious....so if there is an extra charge, I am fine with that.
Thanks
Paul

Everyone's has shipped that paid. Cost of shipping was actually more but consider this my good deed for the group. smile.gif

Works for me as well.

I have 7 total that are not spoken for and you are 1st up.. I will Not make any more of these. Same price for these.. I would ask that everyone make some donation to 914world to support this site.

Or at the very least don't forget to donate every year..
