When installing the 3 aluminum trim pieces on roll bar, are the 2 side trim pieces the only support for the top roll bare piece. The reason I’m asking is on my previous 914 I thought there was a clip in the center of the trim piece that fit in a hole in the bar to hold it in place. Thanks
toolguy
the horizontal center bar should have 3 clips that secure it to the rollbar frame at the pinch weld seam

Those 3 trim clips hold it very secure. It takes a pretty good tug to remove.

That’s what I thought. My car has no holes. Maybe covers during body work. I”ll start a search and find. Thanks guys. Mike

OK so now that I picked up the 3 clips, What is the best method to install. I looked at several threads, but no info. Like I said before it's been 10 years or so sense I removed the trim and really can't remember. I just do not want to screw things up. Thanks Mike

Clip goes on the trim then push trim onto targa bar. Push straight on, it doesn’t slide on from the side.

PLENTY on the shelf, and we have used as well

Just to clarify...The clips are slid into the horizontal aluminum trim then the piece is
pushed onto the pinch weld.
dr914@autoatlanta.com
yes three clips slide into the aluminum trim and then the trim is clipped to the roll bar, then the end pieces are installed
