Full Version: Odyssey Battery Question

I've been battling a poor running vehicle all season. It appears to be electrical. While checking my battery connections, I noticed that the negative battery terminal on my brand new Odyssey 925 will rotate about 1/8".

I removed the screw on post and verified that it is the battery terminal itself, not just the screw-on SAE top.

Here is a video:

Is this normal? The positive side does NOT move.

Thanks.

There should an allen head bolt inside the hole on the terminal, as they are removable...tighten it

This video shows more clearly what is happening. It's actually the negative post coming out of the battery that is moving.

Is it the internal part of the post? if it is not good.
I'd take the post off and confirm this.

Yes, it's the internal part of the post. What you see in the 2nd video is just an allen head bolt installed so I can twist it.

Claim it on warranty...who was the vendor? Odyssey should stand behind it.

Yeah get a warranty claim on that. I bet they stand up for their product.

Has the battery been in for the same time duration that you have been having your issues?

Bought it from Amazon. Their return window has closed, so I'm going directly to Odyssey.
