a guy is selling a bunch of misc. parts. a couple of headlight switches are in his for sale items.
I love the idea of having a spare switch for my 74
does anyone know how many pins, or how to identify which one fits a 74?
thanks in advance brant

Slits says, My suggestion is to use a "known good" used one.
There are two ...
Early is 10 pin
Later is 11 pin
Which do you need?

The early is an aluminum case. The later like you need are zinc and fuller finish.

How can you test a used switch before you install?

Just test the continuity or resistance of each circuit, as per the attached diagram.
