Asking for any interest in a Friday to Sunday weekend rally in the Northeast for the 50th anniversary in for Mid July. I'm proposing a hotel in the Stroudsburg, PA area with a Friday arrival and a terrific road trip on Saturday with dinner Saturday night. Any of you guys seriously interested?

No 914, but interested nonetheless. So, yes.

Ok guys. I am planning a Saturday drive in the area. I know the area a bit. Was up there this past fall a couple times. If you are familiar with any roads that you think would be fun. Shoot me a pm. I’ve got a rough idea already but I’m always open to new ideas. There are a couple lunch stops that we could use. Both north and south of Stoudsburg. This should be fun.

Ralph, if this happens, please allow me the satisfaction of talking to the hotel manager and personally picking the room for you. grouphug.gif biggrin.gif

Turn out should be great. Obviously we all can’t be there but enjoy. beerchug.gif

But to show support from the West Coast, I’ll prepare and send a nice box of S.W.A.G.

I'll need an address later.

I can't tell you blown away I am by your offer Oscar. You made my night. We'll see where this goes in another day or two, but I'm getting charged.

I’d be interested. Not completely sure I could make it, but I’d definitely try. Either way, I’d send SWAG as well.

Based on the responses, I am very excited to say I think this is going to happen. Enlisted help with logistics with Bob and Dave. Securing a clean, reasonably priced hotel is a priority, even with months to go. The WCR, the Red Rocks, and Ockteenerfest people have set the standard for a good time and I think we can come pretty close. Look for a more definitive thread coming soon. Meanwhile, feel free to post suggestions.

I’m in, sounds like fun.

Sweet - looking forward to this. Missed everything last year due to neck injury. Bringing some vino for the boys.

Sorry Zach, looks like the weekend will be the same as the WCR, July 17-19. Any chance of cutting your Scout time a bit short?
VaccaRabite
Bummer.

Nah I'm one of the Scoutmasters for the troop. I gotta be there. Kids before hobbies.

Thank you everyone. Live in Bensalem which is just north of Philadelphia. Little about myself, still own and drive a ‘74 MGB which I bought as a senior in high school, 29 yrs ago this week. Have 2 914’s which have been off the road for 4-10 yrs each. Decided a few weeks ago to get the better back on the road for the spring. Maiden voyage should be next week at this point. Photos to follow. Thanks again

Just an FYI....Since I have this NE crowds attention, there is a car show in Allentown at the Bulgari complex this June sometime.
Sorry to say no foreign cars that I know of. Go figure, an Italian guy with no European cars. Anyway quite an impressive collection and the Grand Nationals will be held there so I am told. I have a friend that has a near perfect Chrysler Imperial he is entering. Sorry to hijack Big Len.

My 74 914 is the same color orange. Great color for a fun little car.

New to this group but was on Rennlist for several years when Dunkle ran it. John drove my 911 SC at Watkins when we had a ECR back in the day in New York. They were fun, this should be a good time also.
rgolia
I am not far from you. I am in Buckingham. Take your maiden voyage up my way. Plan to get the 914 out for a Sunday drive. I have owned my 914 since new and I have a lift in my heated garage.Click to view attachment
