Just a heads up that they have gone to no longer available. There maybe a few odds and ends out there. Lots of other ones out there of unknown origin.

CHECK with seller IF they say they have them BEFORE ordering. Lots of listings for parts they offer for sale but NOT in Stock.

I jumped in on a group buy for mine. I didn't think my stock one's were bad. Until I installed the new rods. Wow. Too bad

I’m sure it will be temporary. It’s a commonly purchased part in the 911 world.

Just waiting on that next container ship from China. happy11.gif

For the record I don't know where they are made, nor do I really care. What I do value is Lemforder and that they would be handling spec's and quality control.

Literally just ordered a set of turbo tie rods from PMB a few days ago but honestly don't know if they are Lemforder or not. unsure.gif Site says OEM Lemforder. Shame on me for not checking stock, but, just need parts to get things assembled for an initial alignement check before I weld in the rear suspension console.

Hoping it is only temporary.

I talked to Jason at Paragon this morning and he said he had been looking for awhile. He said they tried several brand X and they did not work out. I bought the last kit he had.

Hmmm ... glad I got a pair a few years ago biggrin.gif

Thanks for the notification though, Mark

I just received a set from Chuck Moreland at Elephant Racing, this was late March 2021.
I did have to shop many places to find a set, most out-of-stock reasons were attributed to the covid pandemic. I was glad to get these in my hand and I hope production will resume soon. In all my searching for these, it seems as though many places that advertise the Lemforder 930 Turbo Tie Rod Kit are actually trying to get you into a set of URO which seems to have an abundant supply. biggrin.gif

ok, what makes the Lemforder so much better than the others anyway..I mean there doesn't seem to be a lot by way of technical components? Is castle nut vs. nyloc the only issue? Just curious. I have a set of Uro, but need to pick up a second set for my other project. Is there a second best choice?

Lots more to ball joint design than that.

I don't know the specifics of Lemforder specs's but consider these:

Articulation angles need to be accomodated
The ball joint liner material has a huge impact on joint friction, noise, and life
Ball size vs. loads
Roll forming the end cap on to have approprate pre-load on the ball joint
Heat treat
Ball plated vs. polished
Ball roundness
Durability & life cycle prove out. Really bad things happen when tie rods aren't connected to knuckles.

I've never done ball joint design from scratch but worked with those that have. I don't want that job!

Seems like a simple purchased commodity but they aren't.

Some of the boots on the off brands would tear in a matter of weeks.

I think this is one of those Timex -Rolex things. Both tell time, but the Rolex is built more precise, out of better materials so it will tell you the time longer.

Lemfeorder is/was made in Germany.

Yeah, I do like that it's an original German car parts provider which always says 'quality' for sure.

914 Rubber has the LEMFÖRDER turbo tie rod kit back in stock.
https://914rubber.com/turbo-tie-rod-kit

Elephant Racing has their own turbo tie rod kit.
https://www.elephantracing.com/porsche/911/...%2C%20%26%20914.

There is a $5 difference.

Is either of these better?

Thanks.
