Where is this installed?
NEW! Shift Rod Support Bracket from JWest
SirAndy
The full version (not mobile) has the following description:

QUOTE

Replacement/upgraded bracket that holds the shift rod bushing under the shifter
Fits 911 '65-'86, all 912, 930 through '88, 914 with tail-shift, and 914/6 '70-'72
Replaces factory part 930-424-031-01 and 914-424-224-00
Includes new rod bushing installed
Machined aluminum and black anodized
Design grips bushings tighter than the factory part for a better fit to shift rod, yet large radius in bushing hole allows for easier replacement of the bushing.
Utilizes factory bushing 914-424-224-00 (included)
Upgrade for '65-'69 911 (replaces early "narrow" shift bushing)

Mark Henry
It bolts on "upside down" just under the rear of the shifter, in the tunnel.
Steve
Unless i am reading this wrong, this upgrade is only for tail shifter 914-4, 914-6 and 914's like mine with a 915 gear box. Not for 914's with a side shifter (73-76).

Hmmm…doesn’t the rod need some lateral play for the 1-R and 4-5 gates ?

Cant see the point of it. No problem with the original bracket. And it does not have the correct two threaded holes for attachment to the 914 tail shift shifter bracket.
NARP74
The holes are on the other side, in a different pic.

Is this mounted at the rear console or in cabin area ? Wher would I look to see if I have one.?

Let me find the diagram, but since your car is a 73-76 side shifter, you don't have one.
