As the title states - I need a new dome light for my 1975 915. My car came with the one with the white button, Made In Germany in the center and he chrome trim.

Mine was all cool, but my wife seems to have accidently cracked it while getting into the car today. She leaned on the center back pad and put her hand right through it. I didn't say anything, just acted like I didn't see it. dry.gif

Does anyone have an extra? (I'm looking at you Dr. Stone)

Thanks
Ted

And use an led bulb that doesn't get hot.

Looks like Dorman makes a LED replacement bulb.

I installed this yesterday on my 6. I wish you the best of luck finding one, they are so prominent in the car. Its precious and perfect.

Nice. I have the same sitting in a cabinet awaiting install when our other fails.

IIRC We paid $350 for it in 2017 and thought it was a good deal at the time.

Keep searching eBay, good used ones often come up

It's too bad Porsche can't make a proper reproduction. It's certainly not a complicated part. I remember buying a couple for $50 each and then selling for a lot more when I decided to go without a stock back pad.

A few years ago this subject came up at a high level at Porsche Classic. They told me Hella had no interest in allowing Porsche to use their logo on any classic reissued lamps or lenses, so they could not be replicated it exactly.

Now with Porsche the parent company in profit free fall, sadly Classic is likely to become even less influential for the foreseeable future.
