How do you determine the shim thickness for the clutch pivot?
Say I do not know if the pivot was adjusted correctly before (the fork was rubbing on the pressure plate) and I just had the flywheel resurfaced. How do I know if it's adjusted correctly now? What is the thickness of the stock shim supposed to be? Can I measure the flywheel in some way and come up with a number for the addtional shim amount? |

I couldn't find a spec on it, but basically you want the fork to have sufficient travel to fully disengage the clutch when the pedal is depressed.
That means the fork should be towards the front of the opening in the side of the bellhousing when the engine and gearbox are together. You just don't want it so far forward that there is any interference. |

The shim shown in the PET is just a washer. Two are about all you can use and still have enough thread on the pivot to secure it.
