i've been told that the weight difference in early to late model bumpers was over-rated; that 75-76 bumpers weren't as heavy as people thought.
well, that's bullshit -- i'm happy to report that the myth is true: those mofo's are HEAVY! a solid 45-50 lbs each. thankfully, my fiberglass pieces will arrive tomorrow... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) |

No kidding. I pulled a set off of a 76' I had once. Converted to a 914-6, flared (not one of my better jobs on flares - first time) and put on a set of early std bumpers. When I pulled off the 76' bumpers, I couldn't beleive how much more they wieghed than even stock early bumpers!
I couldn't give them away for almost a year. Not kidding, I wound up pulling the rubber from the metal and junking the rubber/recycling the metal. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) |
