In my search for flag mirrors, I stopped by Einmalig in Huntinto Beach. They specialize in Porsche service, maintenance, restoration, custom fabrication, and sell new/used parts; been around over 20 years.
Just purchased a complete set of new 911 Flag mirrors at an excellent price; bought a second 914 top about a month ago; and picked up new front hood/fenders several years ago. The people are very friendly and will go out of their way to help; their shop has a lot of 914, 911 parts. Their toll free # 888-777-6772, ask for Brian Also have a web page: www.einmalig.com |

I've been thinking about the flags myself... how much for the whole setup?

They had complete new sets for $350 and used sets for $250.
I took the new set; it included the backing plate, rubber seal. I've been looking a long time for new and found they averaged $350 per mirror. I think a complete set for $350 is pretty good. They also had 14" and 15" Fuch whhel sets, new and used. Didn't price them, but will next month. |

We carry the original mirrors and have them in stock. Next time try 914 World Headquarters.

Yeah, 911 Flags are not 914 parts. Besides, the 914 left and right have different part numbers if you want to be picky.

This is wonderful. It is like having a conversation with my five year old, except that he stays on topic better.

Flags are the later painted ones. Just modify the base (recurve it) and they can fit a 914 door rather nicely.
$350 for a new set is an awesome price! I just installed a used set on someone's 911 and he paid more for a set of used ones! They were electric with the switches and wiring though. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif) |

It is a 914 club, I see nothing wrong with mentioning the 914 mirrors. To my knowlege there is no right mirror for the 914, you just take the left and turn it for the right side.

I got my 911 flag mirrors with wiring and switches for 70 bucks on ebay. Backing plates were 7 bucks apiece from mid-atlantic and I spurged and bought new gaskets for a few bucks.
If doing ebay..just make sure they are 911 and not 944/928 mirrors as the bases are different. Jim |

Larry, the only difference between the 911 and 928 mirrors are the bases. You can use the uppers, switches, harnesses from the 928....you just have to find 911 bases...then you should check some of the porsche salvage yards that might have just the bases on some dented/trashed uppers.

You can get the bases new from Porsche.
