When I installed the front and back suspension, I just snugged all the bolts. Now I want to torque them all down and can't find my book with the ratings.

How does one achieve ("castellated hub nut 217-253") that many foot lbs? Air tools only? Or lots of patience?

1/2 inch breaker bar, body weight and best guess. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)
18" breaker bar standing on it; my weight is 200 lbs times 1.5 = 300 ft lbs. my torque wrench goes up to 250 ft lbs. my buddies 356 required about 300 ft lbs on his rear wheel hubs per his mechanic so we did the bar and body weight trick as suggested by the mechanic. seems to have worked, no more gear oil leakage. I was nervous about doing it but Al said to go ahead so we did. |
