Looking through old threads, it looks like the Mallory Unilite of choice is part #4554101. I found one for sale but the part # is 3754101. How are they different (other than the part #) and is it a good choice for a 2 ltr. w/carbs?

A black cap could be made to work, but it's not the one you want.

Find a red cap Mallory, dual point, single etc. except for the PU they are the exact same as a unilight and parts are still no problem. Can be modded to grey/grey springs.

I've retrofitted them with pertronix, they work good.

You can also buy the upgrade kits that make it all optical.
