I need to pack up a type 4 engine case for shipping. How do I remove the dipstick tube?

Mark I think these are a press fit,not sure if you can easily remove then without damage to the tube....if you can remove them @ all ?

I tried for my short block's trip to Cali. Couldn't get it out. So I packed around it very, very well and supported the engine on all sides...and FedEx clearly rolled the package through its warehouse, bending the tube.

I’ve removed the dipstick tube before on my engine. Lots of heat on the boss and tap it up using a block. Wasn’t easy. I was changing from the bus tube to the 914 tube.
In install I put the tube in the freezer and heated the hell out of the boss. Tapped the tube in no problem. Zach |
