I just noticed a guy here who has a v-6 outboard motor in the back of his truck.....175hp or so...I got to thinking well it would sure fit, but......
has anyone ever heard of a 2 stroke, fuel injected 914?? The power to weight could be interesting..cooling would be a problem as I would have to tow an ocean around with me, but what fun!!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/boldblue.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/clown.gif) |

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/w00t.gif) H1R, ahh yes... Wanna see my scars? Talk about two-wheeled tank-slappin devil spawn. That was the most unrideable, evil, overpowered machine I've evern encountered. Full throttle was like a bareback bronc ride. You felt real proud if you could keep it up for 8 seconds. It only had two speeds: "Barely running" and "Apollo rocket". Worst handling bike I ever rode, and insanely fast. Definitely cool though. -Ben M. |

QUOTE(airsix @ Sep 12 2003, 03:09 PM) It only had two speeds: "Barely running" and "Apollo rocket". the KX500 is a much "nicer" bike. it's simply "insanely" powerful from 0-10k rpm. still remember the first time i rode one. wanted to buy it from a guy, some 15 years ago. he let's me test-drive it, not without warning me about the power/weight ratio (65HP on 110kg, that's about 230 american pounds) and the short ratio gas-handle. so i get up on the thing, 1st gear, go very careful, feels great, 2nd gear, 3rd, 4th. i'm going probably 40mph now and it feels strong so i decide to give it some more gas. damm "short ratio" gas-handles ... i go from cruising to full throttle in 4th gear at ~40mph, front end comes up and over, i'm on my back in the dirt and the bike is gone. we both laught about it and i decided not to buy it right then and there. and now i want one really badly. just saw that they still make them, so i could even get a brand new one. just can't drive it here in CA (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) Andy |

You could always consider the early 60's 3 cyl. 2 cycle
water cooled engine from a Saab model 96. I don't know about the hp though. rezron |
