My car has 3/8" black spacers between each intake manifold port and head. Was these added at some point or is this the stock configuration?

My car has 3/8" black spacers between each intake manifold port and head. Was these added at some point or is this the stock configuration? Stock, keeps the injectors from getting fried. my car is a -6 with carbs. same for them too? |

Stock, keeps the injectors from getting fried. my car is a -6 with carbs. same for them too? The PET shows something sandwiched between two gaskets, can't tell thickness. A heat insulator makes sense for carbs too. Probably stock. |
