I run chromoly push rods. http://www.europeanmotorworks.com/vw/type-...s-pushrods.html Why did the current one bend? That’s my plan. Ordered a fresh set. I actually got lucky. I had a couple of broken valve springs, then missed a shift and over revved. I’m lucky I don’t didn’t lunch the whole engine. |

You probably thought of this already, but if a piston contacted a valve, you might want to replace rods bearings to be safe.

You probably thought of this already, but if a piston contacted a valve, you might want to replace rods bearings to be safe. Good advice, but fortunately not the case. Pulled all pistons, cyls to inspect and re-ring. Heads all the way apart, 5 angle grind - all straight and fine. Not really sure exactly why the p rod bent, but there was no other damage. Mysteries abound.. |
