A mirror image of the valance is what I would like. I’ll measure up mine (lower valance) to make sure it’s similar to yours.

I just matched the width of the notch in the Getty valance and cut the bumper so it opened to the top of the circular cutouts in the front panel.

19 3/4" width on the available repro GT valence.
My car is 21" based on the full width (including end tanks) of an exact copy GT cooler

Have to say it is pretty cool, and an honor to see your car be posted for a topic along with a couple pictures I didn't know existed. Thanks Oscar (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

The bumper is in fact a mirror of the FG lower valance that was performed by an amazing metal worker here locally in the San Diego area. He does it for a living and also works out of his house. Between his own projects and those of others he is always in demand and very hard to get in his queue. I have been fortunate to have him help me with a couple things over the years. A true artist.

I was out of town, so just catching up on things, being away was not able to measure until now. The opening is 20" wide and 4" high.
As an aside the mesh I used is gutter stop available at Home Depot and comes already painted black. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/aktion035.gif)

I did 1 sample cut out today. Went extremly smooth. Measured center of bumper then 10 inches each direction. Then measured up 1-7\8" from the bottom and made my cuts. With the reinforcement welded in I will be at approximatly 1-3/4"× 19-7/8" which then makes it blend into the bottom valance. There is also decent space between the bumper and valance to give an optical illusion thus the reason I sized it that way.

Ben-

Kool...very appealing GT mod, I think you need to offer this mod as a service.

Are you going to add radius to opening? More pics please.

This thread should be in the classics, maybe with some cut dimensions of the cooler opening and exit (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
