With "Dude" Mueller of the Great House of Mueller fame, Eric Shea, and the Dreaded Doctor of Evil involved in this project - - - -WHAT COULD HAPPEN???? We have another quality product being produced for the 914 community. I like the idea of the drilled bolt heads, safety wire, excellent machining, and total packaging with dependability and manufacturing with people we know and trust.

Please put me down for one complete set (assuming a set consists of two CV joints).

If you are still gauging interest, I am interested.

I don't need bolts or schorr washers. I already have sources for hardware.

We all know (or you do now) that CV's are NLA for the 914. The Type 1 CV kits are roughly the same but require a tad bit of machining expertise.

Mike (of Mueller fame) and I are teaming up to offer the finished kits (machining and all). We have the first evaluation batch on the way to Mike's shop as we speak.

Target price is between $59.00 and $72.00 per kit (depends Meyle vs. Lobro), as we check for quality issues with each brand.

This will be a complete kit which, from our initial understanding, includes:

(1) CV Joint
(1) Boot
(1) Washer
(1) Clip
(1) Tube of Grease
(4) Bolts (possibly)

This will be a direct replacement to the original 914 CV. Spline counts, depth and size are identical. Machine work involves boring out two of the through holes to accept the 914 CV roll pins and installing those pins.

Interested?

May I have four (4) please...

thanks for putting this together! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/popcorn[1].gif)

Just to let everyone know, Porsche has not deleted complete axles from the parts list. They are not in stock anywhere. I have a set ordered but the delivery date is showing March 2007. Does this mean they are going to build some more? I do not know. The factory has not canceled my standing order of 4 months yet. I will keep you posted. My cost on them will be under $200 each delivered.

When I need them, I'll definitely come looking to you guys for a set, but I can't just buy 4 of them and put them on the shelf for the future. When the time comes I'll want the pro set with the good doctor's special bolts.

Update:

First batch of Meyle's left yesterday. Boxes are larger than suspected. Everything was included in these kits except the Schnorr washers and CV gaskets. The CV's looked of excellent quality. I'll let Mike make the final determination on that.

Once we get them finished we will make the final price adjustments (if need be) and offer them for sale.
