I installed a splendid new fuse panel from Jwest, made plans to reverse my incorrectly (by yours truly) ring gear in the transmission, and bolted up new front and rear valences after Shutzing them. Progress, citizen!

Got my 1911 w/ L-jet running!!!!!! This is a pretty big improvement over my tired 1.8L. This motor has lots of torque and pulls and pulls smooth through the entire RPM range! I love it! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving-girl.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif)

Good luck with that surgery Mark!
I made some fiberglass rain hats, after seeing the price for them from various vendors. I used a meatloaf pan. My mom was not pleased.... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) They will remain that bare amber fiberglass. I love the look. I also fab'd up the turn signal dividers and light sockets to make the euro front lenses work as they should. |

Since the site was down I find myself driving my car more and more to help with the addiction. I carpeted the rear trunk, Re-timed and added the 270ohms resistor to my CHT.

The center caps turned out great, want to share how you masked/painted them??? Love the look Sure. I just used some etching primer followed by some engine enamel, no masking. then after about an hour after the last coat I scratched off the raised portions with a piece of plastic (can't scratch the cap). Another method I heard of was using a cue-tip dipped in paint thinner to remove the paint while it was still wet, but I didn't have any. My way worked well enough, and passes the visual test for a racecar at least. |

Replaced Rear Shock Springs, Stainless Brake Lines, and Bleeders. Got 100 lb. springs from AA which were on sale plus free shipping. Got them in one day! AA gives great customer service. Raised rear up almost one inch which it needed bad.

I stopped in at Pelican to pick up some of those rubber bellows thingies that go onto the ends of my new the eeee-brake cables (IMG:style_emoticons/default/mueba.gif) ... they were back-ordered (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

I decided to check my new ramps on my trailer today, backed the 914 out of the garage....... Huge oil puddle ( hasn't been leaking at all), drove it up the ramps, ramps worked great, checked under car while half way on trailer, oil was coming out of the bottom of the fan housing.... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/headbang.gif)
So today I parked my 914, and will be pulling the motor this Sunday, instead of autocrossing that I already registered for (IMG:style_emoticons/default/headbang.gif) On the bright side I have a new 2056 sitting on my work bench, and McMark is putting together my new microsquirt FI system, but that's a whole other thread...coming soon. So for now its back to driving the boxster. Jeff |

I didn't want the body guys to weld anything to the chassis so they made brackets that bolt into the door jamb and upper door bolts. They used the 75' bumper shock mounts to make brakets to bolt to the front and rear.
I power washed it once i got everything off of it...I rotated to on it's side to get all the water out...just had a big grin on my face watching in sit there rotated 90 degrees from the ground. |

What started as a starter swap, ended in pulling the rocker panels off. Something I've never done, and somethings that didn't look like it had in a LONG time. Didn't want to see this:

Added some new shoes to the 914-6 build. Nitto-Gen tires 205/50/15's with some custom painted & polished FUCHS. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) I also wired in the tail lights and locked in the rear wire harness in the proper position.
