Not sure what I hate more removing paint with chemicals or using the 3M paint remover wheels. One stinks like crap (IMG:style_emoticons/default/barf.gif) and the other makes a ton of noise and dust. One fender almost done (IMG:style_emoticons/default/headbang.gif) this is going to take a while.

gave the car a once over, Went to the PartsHeaven swap meet. Nice to see some guys who were worried if I was dead or gone missing after I got abandoned on the side of the road durring the WCR drive. While I was there I picked up a...... (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads_offsite/i4.photobucket.com-10453-1338780738.1.jpg) P R O T O T I P O!!!!! Woot woot. Had to modify my column to accept a 72+ Momo hub, as Momo doesnt make a hub for a 70/71 914/4 anymore. Also installed the JWest Hub Centric kit to give the legs a bit more room. Love the "remove before flight" key chain and the flip switch on the left of the dash. Go EAA! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cheer.gif) I prefer after flight (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beer.gif) Attached image(s) |

Received shift linkage bushing replacement kit from Pelican for the -6.
Stopped at Harbor Freight for a siphon pump only to discover they're having a big three day sale this weekend. Crap - now I'll be trying to figure out how to sneak over there tomorrow... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) |

My nephew, Jeremy, (might as well start calling by name since he's starting to appear in more posts) helped to load up my wife's '71 on the trailer and dropped it off at my shop. Need to build a dolly to support the car and then we'll start disassembling the suspension for it's restoration.
Since were not having a summer session at our auto shop class this year, grabbed a HF blast cabinet and dust reclaimer (vacuum unit) that have been resting in storage for several years. Jeremy and I assembled the cabinet just before sundown yesterday Now we just need to build a dolly to move it around, then we'll install the reclaimer. I'll snag a set of wheels from one of those HF furniture dollies I just picked up (IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif) |

Fixed the non-working pass side rear lights. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
Also pulled the front bumper to start the re-alignment process of all the gaps. |
