Took the 914 to the car show at Naval Station Newport, RI. That's me and my Dad.

(IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads_offsite/i269.photobucket.com-4499-1341980276.1.jpg)

I also slapped one of my non-working radios (an AM Sapphire in this case) in the dash to make it look better, instead of the gaping hole I've had there for 17 years. I DO have a supposedly working Becker coming my way in the mail though, so hopefully stock-ish tunes soon! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/piratenanner.gif)

Got more insulation installed in the v-nose ... finished the walls and most of the ceiling.

Still need to install some wiring for additional interior lights before we button it up.

Took her for a trip to 7-Eleven for a free Slurpee. I now have 23 miles on her feet after sitting for 10 years.

Sitting here at work on a Saturday contemplating how I'm going to drive the door hinge pins out of the passenger door when I get home so I can finally get the gaps right.

Took off my horn button and repainted it with special paint from Pelican which matches perfectly. Also took off my lug bolts and resprayed them silver. I used a trick I learned on this forum and reinstalled them with a regular plastic shopping bag placed on the bolt before applying the socket. They look great!

Went to a PCA event this morning! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif)

Then on the way home, a very nice elderly man backed into the front of my car! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/mad.gif)

Ollie and i attended a car show, i didn't enter but had many admirers around my car park on the street.
They had a portable Dyno there fixed into a trailer, i was tempted to get my car on it but I had pulled almost 20lbs of boost in 4th on the highway this morning and need to sort out the over boost.
I had it set at 15lbs which is spot on in 2nd and 3rd but the longer pull in 4th the boost jumped waaaay up. Considering a electronic boost controller now or stick a 1 bar spring in the wastegate and forget about it.

Got my car teched for a 3-day DE at Summit Point next Fri-Sun. Adjusted the front wheel bearings (thank you Dave Riley), checked trans fluid while on the inspection lift. Discussed the oil cooler system I recently reconnected.

I actually saw my 914 today for the first time in a few months. Another change in plans re the engine/body/wheel/tire saga. Gonna keep this engine as a moderately hot 2.7 and then start building a balls-out 3.0 RSR type of engine for it later.

Re-keyed the exterior locks to match an original key last used in the mid 70's. The key is almost new (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)
I had three keys, one worked the ignition, one the rear trunk, and the nice third worked nothing. The interior locks are next.

Well, we spent a long arduous day tuning IDF 40s. A bright shinning sun, coupled with a fresh Pacific Ocean breeze, made it a wonderful day for the task. Doug (mrbubblehead) on the left, Joe (KaptKaos) on the right.

Lots of test-runs with the LM-2 attached.

Attached Image

Doug got Joe's car dialed in really good (note grin)

Attached Image

Joe Bar-B-Q'd up some burgers for lunch, then we moved on to the 'BB'

Attached Image

Even though we had a large array of jets at our disposal, the 'BB' didn't fare as well (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

Getting better, but still running rich. Looks like we'll need to install larger venturis next session (IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif)

Thanks for all your help Doug (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

Doug, thanks again. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/pray.gif)

Had to run into the office this morning. Took the 914 for the first time in months. I had forgotten how much I love driving this car.

Mark - we will get you squared away.

Yesterday I washed the whole engine bay down with soap and water(engine out) and then used a rag to take all the old grease off the wiring. I installed two new engine bay seals nd then set to work preparing my engine for the re-install. All thats left now is to put the engine back in today, and hook up all the vaccuum hoses!
