Pulled the oil cooler and cleaned up the air passages.

I hope you are not going to use that carburetor that I see in the background.

They are terrible for a 914.

I hear you! I should have hidden it for the pic (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) .The 32/36 is the carb that was on the car when I bought it. Spent time last year jetting it as best as I could but realize it's not a permanent/ideal solution.

An upgrade (dual Weber 40s?) is on the list but not for this year. This year I am cleaning out the mouse nests on top of the cylinders and oil cool. A man has got to prioritize!

As I've previously posted, I bought a super light weight GT Lid from Sergio. I had him leave it partially unfinished, as he made one for me without hinges, mounting hardware etc. I had already made some changes and mocked it up, but then I decided to take it apart and powder coat it matte black. I got them back from powder yesterday, and reassembled today. Then I drove it....beautiful day here in Georgia!

Drove my '74 about ten miles home from the shop today. It's running the best it has for several years. These cars are so damn fun when they're running well.

Among many other things, they installed the @mb911 muffler I probably bought two years ago. It looks and sounds outstanding.

I spent some time working on the wire loom for the Arduino board. I'am trying to use magnets held on with heat shrink. I use a heat gun to shape the loom during the insulation. We'll see how it goes.

They seem to have plenty of holding power and if I need more power I can just add another magnet.

You're going to enjoy it! I've had mine on the car about 18 months now, and last local car cruise in i went to that was the #1 comment was the amazing sound, no one could believe it wasnt a six or 8! of course to add to the sound issue i have a custom cam, it fools a lot of people. You will feel a difference too. Mine is a 2.1 now and with a larger throttle body and that exhaust the performance improvement is amazing!. Now i am considering saving up for doing a custom injection with independent throttle bodies almost like the /6 projects out there a few are doing. enjoy!!

Mine's built to 2056cc too, upgraded cam from European Motorworks. The only thing holding it back are crappy EMPI carbs (Weber knock-offs). I'll be very interested in following your project if you go with ITBs.

for now i am running a 50mm TB, a stock D-Jet TB bored out , and it did make a difference especially from about 3,000 rpm to red line,
i am thinking about a different air intake and filter to help with that larger TB.

Can't get the carbs dialed in? What did you use for Cyl heads?

My original 2.0 cylinder heads were rebuilt by Jorge at European Motorworks. The closest thing to a build thread is here: http://www.914world.com/bbs2/index.php?sho...=220506&hl=

The carbs were new (back in 2010) EMPI HPMX 40s purchased as a set with hex bar linkage from AA.

It's drivable; there's just a significant flat spot around 2300rpm.

Got my new tires mounted. I think they look a lot better than the 55 series tires I had. These are 195X65X15. Had them mounted and balanced at Roger Krause Racing in Castro Valley- they were very careful and did not put a single mark on the rims. I have been going to Roger Krause for about 40 years.

Just the facts man, I read through most of your build thread, very impressive.

I let a '64 SC coupe go last year, Irish Green and mostly original, all original metal.

This is a great group (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving-girl.gif)
