Drove 50 yesterday and 50 the day before.
And more fooling with the foglights--since they're mainly used as DRLs I installed LED H3 bulbs. They only draw 4 watts each, so that's roughly 50 watts less per bulb. Saving up for Spoke's stuff. |

Phil Thank you - wasn't sure if it would look good - I will take it out a few times and see if I like it. I have a Laguna Seca vintage badge and a ADAC vintage badge too. May do some swapping. |

Drove it!
Still driving the 914 so little I mark each time on the calendar. If it gets more than two weeks, I try to make time (18 days since last drive). Doesn't help it's just been pissing rain last few weeks. Today, for about 4-5 hours, the sun came out. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) Attached thumbnail(s) |

Dropped the BB's motor. I will be doing a bunch of stuff. The front suspension is off for a refresh. Engine will get a good inspection for a few oil leaks. A new Bowlsby harness set, inspect injectors, new fuel and vacuum lines, valve adjust, new tps, new Tangerine SS tunnel lines, the list goes on.....
Thankful for 914rubber, AA, Tangerine, Jeff Bowlsby Paragon, Aase, PMB, Bruce Stone, 914werke and others for helping us keep these cars on the road! |

Shifter bushings-
Lately having a hard time getting first and reverse gears. Shifter bushing completely disintegrated. I can’t believe I was still able to drive the car without the bushings. Reminds me of the time I drove the 914 with a broken clutch cable. Oh, then there was a time I drove the 914 with a broken throttle cable too. I’ve had my 1972, 914 since 1987. |

STUNNING!!!! @Bucci @Cairo94507 boy both cars are stunning!! man, michael, that car is really looking so awesome!!!! i know you get it out a lot, so that paint still look slike brand new that tells you what an awesome job they did on it!!! I will probably need to repaint and this time get it done better its just so easy to chip, that i know they didint get it to bond correctly, which is dissapointing since i speint about $8000 onthat portion of the job only 4 years ago. -Bucci, i had that happen to me a couple years ago, bushing fell apart, i lost all but 2 gears, now i have the brass bushing in that coupler, not going to ever have to replace that again!! |

Thanks @DRPHIL914 . I do like to drive my car; today will be about 225 miles.
I had my shift coupler fail at the shifter connection. We made a bronze bushing and that should last for the next 50 years. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) |

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) there are brass bushings available on line for anyone wanting to use these, i used the one on sale on ebay i forget who the seller is, and i got the trans console brass bushing from 914WERKE. I will eventually convert the trans console to Chris Foley's upgrade but have been having to spend $$ other places, but i think that will be my last improvment other than maybe a short shift kit to go with it! enjoy Luft!! i wish i could go. take LOTS of pictures please! |

Clayed and waxed getting her ready for Luftgekuhlt 9. Today we are taking it for a nice ride. Looks amazing as always! I recently spent the time to ceramic coat my 996 and was surprised by the results. Not sure how long it will last… The key was in prep. 1. Wash 2. Claybar 3. Medium polish (depending on swirls…) .. used Wolfgang swirl remover 4. Clean car with erase all (car pro) 5. Apply ceramic coating as per instructions. 6. Apply second coat. Also have some car wash that helps the ceramic last longer. |
