FINALLY! After almost 6 years of ownership, and almost 7 months in the shop of the restoration body shop, I picked up my sweet 914 now back in its original Malaga Red and brought her home today! THIS IS HUGE! Tons of pics and details on my original thread from 2017....

Finished refreshing the front end. New LED driving lights, headlights aimed (thanks JP!), bumper top shaped, bumper top and valance painted. Just about ready for WCR!

Did you have to fabricate the brackets for these lights?

Did you have to fabricate the brackets for these lights?

I used a piece of flat stock as an extender between the provided brackets and the factory bolt location. I just drilled a hole in each end to pass the bolt through on each end. Worked great!

Cool, Thanks! I think I have the same lights but haven’t tried to fit them up yet, but figured on having to make a bracket (or extension).

Fingered out how to clock the wipers out of the way

And did the arm mod. And while I was at it I baked
a ome paint on and polished the springs. When I got
the car in 82 the wipers and bumpers had been
painted black.

I did the the reverse park years ago on mine, maybe will get around to doing the wiper arms mod someday...
Pretty sure I posted the procedure, which I got from someone else, but I'll be darned if I can figure out how to search for it.

Installed engine bay "gaskets". They went in much easier that expected.

Also reattached the crossbar to the engine.

Install may be happening this week!

I removed the window “fuzzies” from my doors in prep for paint. I’d like to meet the engineer who designed these and give him a swift kick in the nuts! Wasted 2 hours getting these out of my pair of doors. What a great idea to put 3 plain steel screws in an inaccessible position to rust away and get to impossibility level 5 to remove.

Got my new AN fittings installed for the fuel line today.

The red part is a Weber adapter from CB performance.
