My plan was to just clean, reseal, paint sheetmetal, and install new fuel and vacuum lines for now, but that has been foiled! I was not quite clever enough while putting the engine on my new engine stand and broke 4 fins off a head… I’ve looked through some ads and it may be cheaper to get a whole engine than a matching set of heads, and sell off the rest. Oh well. I’m into metal work for now. I’ll worry about it in the spring.

Today I made a pattern for the seats in my race car,. I have been trying to make an imitation of an early Speedster seat. I always liked them the best of all of the Porsche and the seats available to us. Now I have just what I have been lusting for. These will look so bitching some 911 owner will wish his flat 6 was a flat 8.

The other day I was trying to get some space where I could put the car up on the stands. Not quite enough room to get under the car in the small trailer. Now I will be able to get some stuff done on her bottom.
That list is long, flat bottom, muffers, diffuser, finish the oil cooler and install some sensors.

pulled front wheels to install new brake lines from PMB and bleed the system , flushing out old fluid, , i was going to pull the wheels anyway to get them balanced and found a pretty heavy wear pattern from excessive camber, so after getting new tires and balance will need to re do alignment! -
so also i was glowing to install a new dust shield and found it was rubbing on the back of the rotor, old one didn’t, no matter what i did i could not keep the new one from rubbing - is there a different between early and late dust shields or is this just bent in such a way as to cause rubbing? i could not tell exactly where it was rubbing so the old one went back on, repacked the bearings and reinstalled caliper. new brake lines are in, used a motive bleeder that did a great job!!

oh and i found that while in there my sway bar drop link was loose ans slid off the bar so i was running with once side loose so essentially no from sway bar action. slid it back on the end of the bar and retorqued the bolts, man just shows that we need to reinspect our brakes and suspension regularly!!

Did a once a year'ish wash in preparation for the Un-Stock show next weekend (IMG:style_emoticons/default/shades.gif)

Took the opportunity with the excellent weather, to head to EASY this morning for a doughnut and cup of joe with a whole bunch of great guys and beautiful cars. That is James' (JamesJ) beautiful White 914 next to my car. Also got a chance to hang out with Chris (tygaboy) Mark (Mark Howard) Greg T. (You can see the front fender of his absolutely stunning 914-6 Willow Green clone stocking on one of the pictures) Robert (BuddyV) HB, Kevin who brought his beautiful blue flared 914-6 with a 3.6 and 915, Eric T. who brought his gold '78 911 SC, Steve who brought his lovely daughter Maddie (Happy Birthday Maddie!) and his Lime Green 911 coupe. So many great cars and people. About 240 miles all in for my car today; she ran perfectly.

Sorry for several pictures of my car; I do love it.

@cali914 - If you mean my Irish Green 914-6, thank you very much. It has a 3.2 with Ben McFarland's large tube SS heat exchangers and a stock Dansk 2-in 1-out muffler.

If you mean Greg T's Willow Green flared 914-6, it definitely sounds good. He has a SS 3.2 that loves to rev.

Need to get this back together by Unstock next Sunday
HD renegade axles came loose on the stub axles on my 914-8. One side came completely off and mangled the roll pins. Glad I also checked the other side it was also loose. No shnorr washers anywhere.

Also getting ready for unStock. New tank, custom cut and sized to fit my strut towers. Old tank with fuel cell had a leaking bladder and since I've retired from racing decided to just go with a steel tank. I cut off the NLA fittings on the stock tank and had AN fittings welded on.

The Fuel Safe bladder used one of their fuel level senders and now I'm back to the stock sender but don't have a pin out on the wires. I have three wires green, brown, and black. Four terminals on the sender. Which goes where? Anyone?

Guessing the terminal with the jumper is chassis ground and the gold terminal is green wire. Brown and black to the other two terminals. Am I close?
