Drove it for about an hour today after having newly refurbished PMB calipers installed at all four corners, along with my new Bluetooth 1-2-3 distributor and new coil.

Still in the "mushy pedal" stage of getting the new brakes worn in (although it was noticeably improved over the course of my drive today).

About ten minutes into the drive, I stopped and loaded a clone of the Bosch 050 curve into the distributor. Totally brought the engine to life. It felt like it was releasing some pent-up aggression. Made the next 45 minutes a lot of fun.

Worked on a truck floor replacement, aggravated my lower back, made it home and camped out on the floor.

I am running an ancient Bosch 009, seems to be fine, pulls good, does everything it should, but when I see this I get interested in a 1 2 3 distr. How was the 050 curve different, low end pull, mid range pull?

I've only got "seat of the pants" to go by, but it felt like smoother power delivery throughout and more mid range power. But I've only known a carbed engine and it's always been a little lumpy - can't attest if it would make a similar difference with FI.

i’ve had a lot going on but was able to make it to our local car club and hotrod children’s charity car show in beautiful Habersham, Beaufort SC, this past saturday.
took the 914, met some other very nice P-cars and owners , the ‘86 944 Turbo is a ONE owner!!!! the green 356SC is a 2-owner and the white 993 is a 2 owner, all cars that are getting driven -and original paint even.

While the rebuilt engine awaits on the stand, I had the rocker panels removed to see what's underneath there...and, was relieved to find it's all still very clean & rust free....I'm very happy about that! Jack posts have some protective primer on them that I applied over 30 years ago, and they're still very original & strong.

Then, we removed the old original dark factory coating from the wheel wells, including the entire underside belly. It's also very clean & rust free throughout....getting ready to have new protective coating applied.

An original California car. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

wow, very nice and clean... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/first.gif) what did you use to remove the factory black coating?

We had a nice break in the weather today. Sunshine, no rain, and temperatures in the mid-40's. Took a sixty mile drive and watched my odometer roll over to 90,000 miles. I have had this car for almost 37 years and it still makes me smile.

Liking this look, I saw another Olympic blue car at Okteenerfest with these seats and am REALLY considering it.

A little cool, but still got in close to 70 miles today. Might be the last top-down day of 2023.

Well, I put the 911SC 3.0 tune sticker on the fan. I put it so it could be read by looking down and not upside down. Not sure if that is right but I like it. Fixed the GT horn button and I took it out for a short drive. Stopped by my 914 brother Alan @914 that lives 1 block away as the crow fly’s and we went for a short drive. I can drive even without my shoulder replacement. I had to prove that I can drive it. No racing but I can enjoy my car somewhat. Birthday tomorrow and that makes one year ago that Eric and Diane delivered my car to the Porsche Experience.
