Not my 914, but we pulled the gearstack out of @ScottThePhotog 's 914. He couldn't get it into 3rd. Seems the rebult transmission he bought had 3rd incorrectly assembled and it stacked one of the curved spacers on top of the block, preventing the syncro ring from compressing. We replaced the parts from a gear I had in a tub at home. We put it back together and it drives well now.

Replaced oil cooler seals that were leaking. Used elring seals from Bughaus. Engine in car, PIA, but got it done. Could not get the bottom seal to go in using a 15 mm open end wrench. Had to use a large flat blade screwdriver with a little dab of grease. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/piratenanner.gif)

There is an easier way to do this. PMB has a bracket like
piece to move the stock ignition To the left of the column.
Neat. I have been working towards this for a bit now and
that was not what I had in my head. So I ordered a switch
and the black protector. We’ll see how it goes.

Turn signals would not cancel so I ordered a cheepie stalk assembly from Amazon.

After a straightforward install discovered the HL dimmers would not work.

I gave up after futzing around with the new switch for (+/-) an hour, replaced the broken cancelling "dogs" with the ones from the new switch. Cleaned up the contacts, works as it should.

No more driving around for hours with the blinker on heh.

Today I cleaned up the 914 interior, engine compartment then the outside except the wheels (IMG:style_emoticons/default/w00t.gif)
Took it for a long drive & really enjoyed it. Car ran great with many thumbs up from other drivers.

When bleeding the brakes, found a leaking rear flex line (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

Waiting for new flex lines from Eric S. so won't be driving the '73 for a while...

More metal, same as the cut away. Going to recess on an angle towards the driver the metal for gauges. Then drill holes everywhere i can put one and still keep some rigidity, cover the whole thing with needle felt and make some type of dash top for it.
