Almost done with interior.
One last center tunnel carpet piece, inner fender piece. Now if I can get my pedals back, then it could actually leave the garage! (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads_offsite/img33.imageshack.us-11125-1333931683.1.jpg) |

Took my bumper off so I could get the front valence off and took it over to my body man for sanding and painting. I had painted it black with a spray bomb 2 years ago but it has a lot of rock chips and the yellow paint from the donor car is starting to show through. With the bumper off I changed the fog light brackets, I got the Pilot lites from Camp 914 and am very happy with them, the supplied brackets are better than the original ones and make the pilot lights fit like they belong. Had to use the snow blower as we had quite a bit of snow today, be a few more weks before I can go for a nice top off drive, I envy you warmer climate guys!

Took the shifter linkage off and beat the hell out of it with a hammer. Made enough of a dent so that I can Get the shifter to work again. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/piratenanner.gif) Then I pushed the car 10 feet away from my house so the painter can paint my house.
I am gonna fire it up for the first time tommorow morning if all goes well. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/santa_smiley.gif) |

Fuel pump finally arrived yesterday so I installed it last night. Went to start it and... dead battery (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)
After working most of the day, started up the 914 this afternoon and took her out for a drive. My granddaughter went with me so of course we ended up at the park (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) |

Pulled the transmission , taking it to the rebuild clinic next weekend in Richmond. Transmission mounts were really bad! Clutch looks good, but leek from rear main I believe. So "while I am in there" will include new shift bushings, seals etc. Phil, how are you supporting the engine?EDIT: Never mind ... I saw the jack stand on another PC - that has a better monitor Doug, Festival of Speed - April 20 - 22? ... maybe. Which day are most 914 folks going? I eyeballed my dash and decided a glove box rework is in order.
That is about it. Pick up my cradle on sunday. Time for a little wife side trip to Portland for some Cirque du sole action! |

wrestling with the gas tank trying to replace the collapsed supply hose, I freed up the outlet pipe that now is leaking like the strainer on the other side! >:^p Nice new set of cuts and gas irritations to show for it... Glad I had to come to work!

did a brake fluid flush, filled up the tires, filled up the gas tank in anticipation of next weekend (Hershey), started on a long shake-out-the-cobwebs drive and ... ended up at roots for a long talk.
I did a big thing for the 914's awhile ago; I ran electrical service to the garage (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) |
