I would honestly have to call this a "914 sedan". 4 doors and all, but not as long as a limo.
Add about one more 914 length and it would be a limo. I don't believe it needs special registration unless it is going to function as a service limo. You would need a TCP# and you could get a 1ZZ#### license plate. |

I don't believe it needs special registration unless it is going to function as a service limo. You would need a TCP# and you could get a 1ZZ#### license plate. As "limousine" is a french word, I can give you some information about it ... At the beginning a limousine was a closed carriage pulled by horses. It comes from the french region called "Limousin" that is the region surrounding the city of "Limoges". This closed carriage had two rows of seats. Later (ISO definition of 1972) the name "limousine" was internationally used to describe cars that had four or more doors and at least six lateral glasses, that means it has one glass after the door. This setup was mostly used in luxury cars with 2 o 3 rows of seats. Later came the "stretched limousines" that are now called "limos" Technicaly, the 914 limo is a "Sedan" or "Berline" because it has four doors and four lateral glasses. "Sedan" comes from the name of town "Sedan" that is in the north of France. "Berline" come from the german capital "Berlin". |

I think what you guys are doing is cool.
I'm glad I don't need to sit at my computer and pick apart every little fucking detail looking for flaws. |

Digging into the fender transition area ...
No safety glasses or gloves! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/screwy.gif) Quick and dirty mockup with lots of aluminum tape. This area will need some creative metal work to look good. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smash.gif) |
