I need sixnotfour and rick-918s and scotty_b (etc) to all converge on Sonoma and we'll have a big welding party.
Or just find me 2 or 3 good employees and I'll have time to finish it myself. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smash.gif) |

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/smash.gif) On my list for later this year. I'll bring tools. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sawzall-smiley.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/welder.gif) I can't go anywhere until the 280 SL I have here is gone. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/welder.gif) I'm fitting the front sheet metal. Then I need to build a special trailer the will hold the shell by the four jack points. Then it leaves to go get e-coated. This could be like the Rod & Custom Dream Truck. Several shops combined talent and all did part of the work to complete it. Well, except for the part where it got wrecked on it's way to a show... |

Growing a business to the point where your managing it rather than owning a job is so difficult. Finding employees who work as if they are working for themselves and who have the skills to do the work properly is the challenge. It takes time to train youngsters and you loose them along the way. I sent several kids to school to do CAD and CNC and then lost them to aerospace manufacturers.

Maybe we can look at an October build party. We should be able to get most everything done in a couple days with enough people here.
I wonder if we have members with airline miles or hotel discounts that could make it easy for our Welding Crew to get here. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif) |

Everyone that visits your shop and bugs you while you are trying to work should be required to weld 6 inches of the seam.
Either you get them to do it, or you get more time to work...then you can do it. |

Well for one thing, some of us have to plan ahead, set money aside, finish out probation, get our shots etc. |

I can bring passable welding skills (questionable) and lots of encouragement and help. I can also have lunch at The Girl and the Fig. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/chowtime.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

I could be in for a day of helping. not a welder but I can grind on metal, pop the top off of beers, grill food, go for parts...
Do you want that set of Koenig's for the build? You just have to have them re-done. |

Sounds like we've got the beginnings of something. Looks like I need to spend some time getting a work plan together and looking at the calendar to pick a date. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif)
